Can the Children be Adopted:

The short answer is "No."  Aqua Viva is not an orphanage as we understand the term.  It functions as children's home.  It, and similar Mexican institutions, are refuges for children who have been abandoned or released by their parents.  Few of the residents are real orphans and the homes are not way stations for children seeking new families.  Adoptions can happen, but the bureaucracy is formidable and so far we have not had anyone try.
